Tri Huynh was born in Vietnam, then moved to Liège, Belgium, during his childhood. When he was considering his options for his future, he bought his first camera at age 16 with his first paycheck, but did not realize how that would change his life greatly.
He then came to the United States in early 1990s to pursue his education. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Tech, but was working on sports coverage most of his time there. When he graduated, he realized how photography would be such an important part of his life. He then decided to pursue a degree in photography. He graduated with honors from Brooks Institute of Photography with a Advertising emphasis in 2001. Even as a student, his instructors would recognize that Tri was always experimenting with the newest technologies on hand, at that time, it was the beginning of digital photography. He was the first alumni of Brooks Institute of Photography to have a complete digitally graduation exhibition.
Tri is always looking for different approach in photography. He began experimenting with digital infrared photography. He then completed his Master of Science in Photography with an emphasis on Fine Art Digital Infrared from Brooks Institute in 2006.
Under the tutelage of Joyce Wilson, Tri has developed his vision and style for people photography. He can capture the essence of beauty through his images.
Tri is not only a professional photographer, but also an educator. He served on the faculty board at Brooks Institute from 2002 to 2008. Now relocated near Salt Lake City, Utah, he continues sharing his passion and knowledge through professional workshops.
